What are some of the symptoms of Covid-19 infection? Aside from a persistent cough and fever, a sudden loss of taste and smell are also common, even though they haven't been added to the growing list.
A sudden loss of these senses suggests you are 10 times more likely to be infected by the virus, say researchers.
A research team from the University of California at San Diego tested 1480 people who had recently developed flu-like symptoms, and 102 of them tested positive for the virus. Many of these reported a sudden and profound loss of smell and taste, but they regained these senses between two to four weeks after infection.
Those who complained of a sore throat usually didn't have Covid-19—but, aside from loss of taste and smell, typical symptoms include fever, fatigue, cough and difficulty breathing.
